Members of Senator Ned Nwoko’s media team that worked for his emergence as the Senator representing Delta North Senatorial District, have decried abandonment after his election victory.
In a leaked WhatsApp post on the media team’s platform, by one Comrade Jeffery Opone, who described himself as “The Local Politician”, said since after Senator Nwoko, got his victory, the media team hasn’t met for once.
The team accused the senator of allegedly using them and dumping them after they worked hard to see that he won the election against all odds.
He noted that the media team had made so many enemies, slamming him that those who were trying to calm them down are those that have benefitted immensely in one way or the other.
According to the leaked post which reads: “Good Morning My People.
“It is almost one year in Office and yet the media team hasn’t met for once since after our Principal got his victory not even a thank you meeting.
“It is obvious that the Media Team who fought gallantly for the Senator before the primary, during the primary, before main election, during the election and after election has been abandoned not considering the editors of the media team who by virtue of trying to promote the Senator had so many enemies.
“How time flies… we are about counting one year out and yet nothing has been done and each time we complain here, some persons will want to shut us out by dropping a long episode in letting us know that there is still time.
“The painful part of it all is that those who are responding and letting us know that he will call a meeting are those who are in one way or the other benefiting from the Senator and would not see the truth in what we are saying because they ain’t affected.
“Politics is deep and it is important for a Leader not to joke with his followers or group of workers.
“I need not a prophet to prophecy to me that this group is just existing by name and nothing else is going to come out of it.
“I and many others here have learnt our lessons in a very bittered manner and we will advise ourselves going forward.
“Lest I forget, I have been reliably informed that a big wig will be contesting for the office of the Delta North Senate in 2027 and don’t be surprised when you will see many of the people here working for him.
“When you treat your workers well, they will stick with you no matter how cloudy the weather will be.

Meanwhile, in a swift response to the post, the senator today, Monday May 13th 2024, convened a meeting of the media team.
The meeting which was held at the Campaign office along DBS Road, saw Senator Ned Nwoko, appealing to the team to cheer up.
It was reliably learnt that Senator Nwoko, dropped the sum of three hundred thousand naira (N300, 000), for them to share after the meeting.
Some of the team members who gathered in clusters, grumbling after the meeting, said: “when did Ned hold this kind of meeting with us?
“It is because Okowa, is coming for the position by 2027? See how he humbled himself while talking with us”.
