Atiku Abubakar had said, “I agree with him, you know why I agree with him? While you were going into the agreement, you should also know that the people are the most important.

“You should have put them into consideration. For example, if somebody comes to you and say, okay, these are the conditions, I want to make you State Governor, if you see that you will not be able to continue to maint.. sustain the, the conditions, don’t go into it.

“If you have agreed, see what you will do; yes… No, no, no, no, that would be folishness, you see, don’t, no, no, no, see, let me tell you, I have been in politics, contesting elections, to win election is not easy.

“For somebody to sponsor you, to support you to become Governor, the person… No, no, see what you know, let me on this now advise Governor Fubara.

“I am not, it’s not that I am happy with Governor Wike, but Wi.. if not for Wike, he won’t have become Governor today.”

Abubakar, who spoke during an interview on Democracy Today, an AIT Television programme, maintained that Fubara should have considered the effect of his agreement with Wike on the people of Rivers State before he entered it.

He added that if Fubara had entered an agreement to become Governor, then Wike has kept his own side of the bargain because the former is now Governor. He maintained that Fubara should honour his word also.
