No fewer than 14 persons abducted at various locations have been successfully rescued by the police in Kano State.
A press statement on Monday August 16th 2021, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, disclosed that the victims were rescued in different operations.
He explained that the victims were abducted in different operations carried out by the Hoodlums across the state.
According to the statement, “On 3rd August 2021, on the instruction of the Commissioner of Police, to sustained security patrol and rescued the remaining five victims of kidnapping captured on 2nd August 2021, team of Policemen at Falgore Forest.
“Also On 2nd August 2021, a report was received that unknown armed men along Kano – Jos road by Falgore forest, Doguwa LGA, Kano State, open fire and stopped Opel Vectra motor, dark green in color and kidnapped the eight occupants into the forest”
“A team of Policemen attached to Anti-Kidnapping Squad also engage the hoodlums and rescue the victims. On the 1st August 2021 another victim was rescued from their captivity and also arrested the culprits”
He said the command had already United the victims with their families.”
Kiyawa said during the period eight suspected kidnappers were also arrested in different operations.
He said Kano State Police Commissioner CP.Sama’ila Shu’aibu Dikko has ordered for the case to be transferred to the Command’s Criminal Investigation Department for discreet investigation, disclosing that the suspects have been charged to court.
