A press statement in the early hours of Tuesday 16th March 2021, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Haruna Mohammed, disclosed that one Gladys Nworie Ikegwuonu, the prime suspect from Ohaozora, Ebonyi State operates the baby factory and a Brothel.
According to the image maker, “Two suspects were arrested, Abuchi Ani, 32 years, of Ohazora, Ebonyi State, and Emeka Ikegwuonu, 49 years, of Akabukwu, Nnewi, Anambra State.
The police also rescued the four pregnant young girls whose names were given as, “Chisom Okoye, 20 years, of Mgbaneze Isu, Onicha local government area, Chinecherem Clement, 18 years, of Agbaebo Isu of Onicha local government area.
Others are Blessing Ogbonna, 21 years, of Nkwagu Isu of Onicha local government area and Blessing Njoku, 21 years, of Mgbaneze Isu of Onicha local government area, all of Ebonyi State but residing at Cool Joint bar Nnewi axis of Anambra state.
It would be recall that on 11th March 2021,there was a report at the Area Command Headquarters, Nnewi, that a four year old child of St. Joseph’s School, Otolo Nnewi, was returning home from School in company of his siblings when two men on a motorcycle grabbed the child and zoomed off with him.
The child was rescued by some commercial motorcyclists who pursued and eventually arrested the suspects at Akamili Community, Nnewi.
“Preliminary investigations conducted by the Police revealed that the suspects who were beaten to stupor by an angry mob (one of whom was confirmed dead), were sent by the said Gladys Nworie Ikegwuonu, presently at large.
“She also operates a baby factory and a brothel by keeping young girls and getting them impregnated after which she sells the children to her waiting customers”, Muhammed said.
He revealed that the Command is intensifying efforts to arrest the principal suspect, Gladys Nworie Ikegwuonu, of Ohaozora, Ebonyi State, in order to bring her and other accomplices to justice.
