Heavy gun weirding men have allegedly abducted a chieftain of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Ugbo Iyiriaro, between Ugo and Ugboko communities, Orhionmwon local government area of Edo State.
It was gathered that Mr. Iyiriaro, was whisked along Benin-Abraka Road.
It was learnt that the victim left Benin, on Tuesday, to attend to an urgent issue in his community before the journey was aborted halfway by the kidnappers.
According to a source who pleaded anonymity, Iyiriaro was driving to his community in Umoghunokhua with a plan of returning to Benin shortly thereafter when he was intercepted.
Meanwhile, it was learnt that the kidnappers had already made contact with the family of the victim, demanding N20 million ransom.
