Dr. Ifeanyi Michael Osuoza has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Distinguished Senator Peter Onyelukachukwu Nwaoboshi, describing his death as a profound loss to Delta State and Nigeria’s political landscape.

In a condolence message issued on December 19, 2025, Dr. Osuoza paid glowing tribute to the late senator, whom he described as a formidable politician, dogged fighter, and accomplished statesman whose contributions to politics and legislative service remain indelible.

Senator Nwaoboshi served with distinction as a two-term Chairman of the Delta State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and later represented the Delta North Senatorial District in the National Assembly on the platform of the PDP.

According to Dr. Osuoza, the late lawmaker was courageous, outspoken, and resolute in his convictions, never hesitating to stand firm in defence of what he believed was in the best interest of his people.

Dr. Osuoza particularly noted what he described as an act of rare wisdom and foresight by the late senator, who, before his passing, reconciled with those he had political differences with.

He said this gesture stands as a lasting testament to Senator Nwaoboshi’s large-heartedness, political maturity, and spiritual preparedness.

While mourning his passing with profound grief, Dr. Osuoza said there is consolation in the enduring legacy of service, courage, and reconciliation that the former senator leaves behind.

He prayed for the Almighty God to forgive his shortcomings and grant his soul eternal rest and peace.

Dr. Osuoza also extended his heartfelt condolences to the family of the late senator, the All Progressives Congress (APC), his political associates across party lines, and the entire people of Delta North, praying that God grants them the strength to bear the irreparable loss.

Senator Peter Nwaoboshi’s death, he said, marks the end of an era, but his impact on Delta State politics and national discourse will continue to be remembered for years to come.
