Elder Statesman and Convener of Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Clark, has praised Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, for his remarkable achievements since taking office on May 29, 2023.

Clark commended the governor for surpassing expectations in a short period, stating that Oborevwori has outperformed his predecessors.

In an open letter on Friday January 18, 2025, Clark lauded Oborevwori’s efforts in revitalizing Warri, transforming it into a thriving commercial hub, and addressing long-standing infrastructural issues across the state.

Highlighting the governor’s work in Warri, Clark noted how Oborevwori is restoring the city’s status as one of Nigeria’s key commercial centers, which had been neglected by previous administrations.

He particularly praised the governor for engaging Julius Berger Construction Company to carry out vital projects, including three flyovers, a cloverleaf interchange, pedestrian bridges, and other road expansions at the DSC Roundabout, valued at ₦78 billion.

These projects are already making notable progress.

“Warri is fast becoming a vibrant city once again, regaining its former glory under Oborevwori’s leadership,” Clark wrote, emphasizing the contrast with the neglect Warri had suffered under prior administrations.

Clark also commended the governor for ensuring that the benefits of infrastructural development reach all parts of Delta State, citing ongoing projects like the dualization of Asaba-Ughelli Road, among others.

“Today, the story is different. Almost every part of the state is feeling the positive impact of Governor Oborevwori’s development initiatives,” Clark stated.

He also praised Oborevwori for clearing a debt of over ₦300 billion left by previous administrations and for prioritizing people-centered projects over political patronage.

Clark urged Governor Oborevwori to remain focused on his work, particularly in addressing the needs of oil-producing communities and ensuring equitable development across the state.

“I speak the truth, not as a praise singer,” Clark affirmed, urging the governor to continue his good work without distractions, ensuring no community is left behind.
