Oborevwori Felicitates Asagba Of Asaba, Obi Prof. Azinge, On First Coronation Anniversary

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has extended heartfelt congratulations to the Asagba of Asaba, His Royal Majesty, Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, on the occasion of his first coronation anniversary.

In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Sir Festus Ahon, Governor Oborevwori commended the monarch for his unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and the cultural advancement of Asaba and its people.

The governor described Obi Azinge as a revered traditional ruler and distinguished academic whose exemplary leadership within the past year has brought renewed pride to the Asaba Kingdom and strengthened confidence in traditional institutions across Delta State.

He said: “On behalf of the government and people of Delta State, I warmly congratulate Your Majesty, Obi Prof. Epiphany Azinge, SAN, OON, the Asagba of Asaba, on the joyous celebration of your first coronation anniversary.

“Your reign has already demonstrated a profound commitment to peace, inclusiveness, and sustainable development.

“As an accomplished scholar and respected royal father, you have brought honour not only to the Asaba Kingdom but also to the entire Delta State.”

Governor Oborevwori reaffirmed his administration’s continued support for the traditional institution and assured the Asagba of his government’s partnership in advancing the welfare and aspirations of the Asaba people.

He prayed for God’s continued blessings upon the monarch, wishing him long life, wisdom, and a peaceful, prosperous reign.

Obi Prof. Azinge ascended the throne as the Asagba of Asaba in 2024, succeeding the late Obi Prof. Chike Edozien.

Since his enthronement, he has been widely acclaimed for his dedication to cultural preservation, peacebuilding, and community development.
