Buhari, on his verified Facebook page, mourn the death of the farmers, revealed that his administration has directed the military to fight the Boko Haram insurgents.
Miffed by the post with over five thousand comments, one of the Buhari’s supporters, with the Facebook name, Woke Olateju, regretted casting his vote for him in 2015 and 2019 respectively.
Hear him: Sir, with due respect, this is not the type of country we dreamt of. I was one of the people that voted for you with the strong belief that you will be able to handle the issue of security very well bearing the way you handled “maitasine” insurgency early 80s .
“The Country is no longer safe to live in couples with economic crisis. As a father, you needs to address these issues urgently.
“And please note that all parts of the country should be conducive; your spokesman “Garuba” goofed by saying the farmers did not obtain pass to farm in that area as if the area is no longer part of Nigeria: he did not show emotion at all. God Bless Nigeria”, Olateju, said.
But Allen Jobbo, outrightly called out the president and his service chiefs to resign, noting that that was the best decision in sane clime.
“Baba, the most honorable decision to take is that you and your service chiefs should resign now”.
Another Facebook user, Prince Olim, disclosed that situations like this has caused many in developed world to resign instead of making political statements.
“In sane clime, when leaders fail to protect the lives and properties of their citizens. They resign. “But in my country, our leaders send those meant to protect us to kill us instead and then turn around to release press statements that are meaningless”.
Another respondent, Yusuf Abdulrahman, said: “We bargained not for ineptitude when you promised us change. If there’s any government that should not play with our lives, it should be PMB’s government. Beyond the fact that he himself is a war veterans, that should know the onus of war.
“Thanks to PMB for lecturering us that what’s needed for our solutions aren’t kinsmen but leadership, responsible and responsive to their duties? Today, security Chiefs are from the north, unfortunately, north finds no peace even for a second”.
Similarly, Isah Nura, wrote: “I have already lost hope for Buhari, that I loved, supported and voted for in 2015 but with a great zeal that he would put things in place but he woefully faild. In 2019, he came back with excused of being a human who is entitled to make errors but he failed again”.
Hon. Okipevi Mauyon Hezekiah, lamented that the promises by the president had not been mixed with actions.
Said he: “Same talk with no actions. You finally brought the country to its kneels. The people who surrounds you are not helping matters and they come out to spew jargons just like Shehu Garba. I don’t blame him though, it is not easy to defend failure.
“No sane person will see that farmers massacre and not be heartbroken. I wept seeing my people’s dead bodies wrapped in whites clothes. For God sake, your people gave you the votes you needed and yet, you can’t protect their region for them. It’s heartbroken to see the country this way”.
He accused him of been the worst leader in the history of the country who had failed as a military Head of State and as a democratic leader.
Sanusi Yoyyib Ace Olamilekan, hinted thus: “May Allah forgive the lives lost. However, enough of the empty promises, we need obvious result and swift actions.
“Though insecurity didn’t start in your government but we’d be glad if it is curbed to the barest minimum during your reign. It is achievable. As you stated towards the end. It is not only the North but the incessant kidnapping, robbery and ritualist down here in the South.
“Worthy of note is also the Kaduna clan clashes. May peace reign in my fatherland (Aameen). May Allah aid you to do the right thing too”, he added. Aameen
