The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara State has recorded a significant boost with the defection of top National Conscience Party (NCP) leaders and hundreds of their supporters into its fold.
Receiving the new members, Rt. Hon. Dr. Aminu Sani Jaji, Member representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency and Chairman, House Committee on Ecological Fund, welcomed the Zamfara State Chairman of NCP, Alhaji Muhammad Bala Nasarawar Burkullu, along with his state executive and chairmen from 14 local government areas, into the Jajiya APC Political Movement.
Also joining the ruling party was Alhaji Sani Bawa Damaga, a grassroots political leader from Maradun Local Government Area, who defected with hundreds of his supporters under the same Jajiya Movement platform.
The wave of defections comes amid growing popularity of the Jajiya Political Movement, led by Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya Anka, which has been described as one of the most structured and influential political platforms in Zamfara State, with active presence across all 14 local government areas.
Speaking on behalf of the NCP defectors, Alhaji Muhammad Bala said the decision to join the APC was based on a shared vision for the development of Zamfara State and confidence in the leadership of Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji.
“We believe in the strength and structure of the APC, especially the Jajiya Political Movement. We are convinced that this is the right platform for meaningful development and inclusive governance,” Bala stated.
Echoing similar sentiments, Alhaji Sani Bawa Damaga lauded Dr. Jaji’s performance and contributions to the socio-economic growth of Zamfara.
“We are satisfied with his leadership, his representation, and his commitment to grassroots development. The people of Maradun will continue to stand with him in the APC,” he said.
Welcoming the defectors, Alhaji Isiyaka Ajiya Anka, leader of the Jajiya APC Movement, praised their courage and assured them of equal opportunities within the party. He emphasized the need for unity, peace, and dedication to the party’s growth at all levels.
“Jajiya Movement is the strongest political force in Zamfara today. We are open, inclusive, and driven by a collective vision for a better Zamfara. Every new member will have a role to play,” Ajiya affirmed.
Representing Hon. Aminu Sani Jaji at the event, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad Gurbin-Bore, former Zamfara State Commissioner for Higher Education, described the development as a major milestone for the APC in the state.
“Your defection is a strategic gain for our party and we are excited to welcome such experienced and committed leaders. Together, we will expand the reach and impact of the APC across Zamfara,” he said.
Dr. Jaji, in his message, urged the new members to remain loyal, active, and fully engaged in party activities. He assured them of fairness, inclusion, and collaboration in driving the APC’s objectives in the state and beyond
