Honourable Dr. Abdulmalik Zubairu Zannan Bungudu, a distinguished alumnus of the Federal Polytechnic Kaura Namoda and member representing Bungudu/Maru Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has officially handed over five newly completed solar-powered boreholes to his alma mater.
The water project, executed to address long-standing water supply challenges within the institution, was formally presented on behalf of the lawmaker by his representative, Aminu Lawal Bungudu.
The donation follows a recent courtesy visit by the Polytechnic’s management, led by Rector Dr. Aminu Yusuf Kaura Namoda, during which Hon. Zannan Bungudu pledged to support the institution in addressing critical infrastructure gaps.
Speaking during the handover, Zannan Bungudu emphasized the importance of sustainability and community ownership in maintaining public facilities.
“Water is essential to our daily lives. I urge the management and students to ensure these boreholes are properly maintained to prevent vandalism and ensure long-term benefit,” he said.
Receiving the facilities on behalf of the Polytechnic, Rector Dr. Aminu Yusuf Kaura Namoda expressed deep appreciation, describing the intervention as a model gesture expected from alumni and public officeholders.
He noted that the provision of water had been one of the institution’s key challenges, significantly affecting both learning and working environments.
“This singular intervention has alleviated one of our most pressing problems. It is our hope that other alumni and stakeholders will emulate this gesture in supporting institutional development,” the Rector added.
Beyond the water project, Hon. Zannan Bungudu has made additional contributions to the Polytechnic, including full scholarship packages for 50 indigent students from Bungudu/Maru Constituency and the award of a contract for the establishment of an Artificial Intelligence Library aimed at enhancing modern research and innovation.
Hon. Dr. Zubairu Zannan Bungudu, a proud alumnus of the Polytechnic’s CPA Class of 1997, continues to stand out as a committed advocate for educational development in his constituency and beyond.
