The burial of Nollywood veteran Rachael Oniga has been fixed for August 26 and 27 in Lagos State.
Popular actor, Ejike Asiegbu, stated this on Wednesday after a visit to her residence.
It was also learnt that the actress, a chief from Delta State, left an instruction she should be buried in Lagos.
Asiegbu said: “My relationship with Rachael Oniga dates back to the year 2000. We worked together and became close family friends.
”I am the godfather to her last daughter who is now 26. We were that close. When I had issues with marketers and got banned, she stood by me and was also banned.
”I am still in shock and I was told by her first daughter Georgina aka Miji that her mother died of a heart attack and not Covid-19.
“The children promised to keep us posted on any relevant information concerning the burial.”
A delegation of Lagos lawmakers led by Desmond Elliot visited the Magodo, Lagos residence of the deceased.
Also, the Lagos State chapter of Actors Guild of Nigeria led by Vice President, Southwest, Chief Femi Branch, also paid the deceased’s family a condolence visit.
The entourage had stars like Segun Arinze, Victor Osuagwu, Femi Durojaiye, Emeka Rising Ibe, Don Pedro -Agambi, and Abubakar Sanusi among others in attendance.
