Speaking during condolence visits to the families in Gargai and Tiga towns, Alhaji Danbappa described the deaths as a significant loss to the Muslim Ummah.

His visit was accompanied by a statement issued by the Board’s Public Relations Officer, Sulaiman Abdullahi Dederi.

Alhaji Sha’aibu Jibrin Gargai, aged 65, reportedly passed away in Makkah. His wife, who accompanied him for the pilgrimage, also sadly died. Malam Ibrahim Ali Tiga, aged 40, died in a tragic road accident while traveling from Lagos to Kano shortly before his scheduled departure to Saudi Arabia.

He is survived by two wives and twelve children.

He urged the family to remain prayerful and hopeful, calling for divine guidance and mercy while praying for the safe return of the missing pilgrim.

The Director General offered prayers for the souls of the deceased, asking Almighty Allah to grant them eternal rest in Aljannatul Firdaus.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Alhaji Yusif Lawan, noted that the visits were carried out on behalf of the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, to offer condolences and solidarity with the grieving families.

He encouraged them to remain united in faith, stating, “God needs them more than we do,” and assured them of the state government’s continued prayers and support.

As part of the government’s immediate relief gesture, the Director General presented each family with essential items, including:

One bag of rice

One 50-liter container of groundnut oil
