A political juggernaut in the All Progressives Congress (APC), Delta State chapter, High Chief Michael Johnny, has asked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Timipre Sylva, to ignore calls to sack Engr. Simbi Wabote, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), over unfounded allegation.

Johnny, a former APC Senatorial aspirant, Delta South district, told newsnen on Saturday, January 29th 2022, that the Board’s Executive Secretary is performing his duty, adding that every plot to distabilize the region must be rejected.

He said those, particularly from the Niger Delta region championing the blackmail and agitating for the sack of Wabote, should have a rethink, and desist from such ungodly act.

While faulted calls from certain persons demanding for the sack of Engr. Pls, the full name is Engr. Simbi Wabote, the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB).

The Ijaw chief, said: ”We are still demanding for more federal appointments for our indigenes in Niger Delta region, and some persons are mischievously calling for the sack of an indigene of Niger Delta, Engr. Wabote, over yet to be proven allegations. The Ijaws and Niger Delta people would not accept any sinister move to unjustly remove Wabote from office”.

The former chairman of Egbema Gbaramatu Communities Development Council said: ”I, Chief Michael Johnny, I have never met with Engr. Wabote and I have never had any dealings with him whatosover.

“However, but since no competent Court has found Wabote guilty, and no agency of crime has found him guilty as well, anyone or persons calling for the sack of Wabote are being mischevous and an attempted blackmail”.

The Ijaw activist, noted that Engr. Wabote should be allowed to do his job for which he was apointed by President Muhammadu Buhari, pointing out that Wabote is still innocent of whatever allegations being made against him.

It would be recalled that Engr. wabote was  accused of alleged non-disclosure of  two existing foreign accounts, Bank of America and HSBC in his Code of Conduct Bureau (CCB) form among others.
