The event was foremost to the intent of educating and training teachers and health workers on how to effectively manage Exit classes resumption in the most hygienic way.
His Excellency’s recovery after going into isolation some weeks ago following his testing positive to the COVID-19 virus was a testimony, to say the least.
His Excellency attested that “While I was in isolation, I was active and I was hugely supported with prayers from all the Exco members, the Market Women, and many others from different organizations.
The Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, Francis Nwaze, while quoting the governor, said: “It was then that I got to know how much I am loved.”
Officials of the government from the Education and health sectors gave brief presentations that centred around COVID-19 awareness and safety measures to be put to place upon resumption. All of these are build up before the hands-on training scheduled as a core part of the sensitization was conducted for all teachers and health workers in attendance.
The event had in attendance His Excellencies, the deputy governor of Ebonyi, Barr. Eric Kelechi Igwe, the deputy governor of Abia State, Ebonyi State’s Commissioner for Education, Chief Medical Director, Permanent secretaries, local government caretakers, teachers from all local governments and close to 456 health workers, Chairman of boards, SSG, SA’s, SSA’s, caretaker committee and a host of many others.
His Excellency, Engr. David Umahi expressed his appreciation to the Deputy Governor for taking up the fight against COVID-19 while he was in isolation, he also extended the same appreciation to his family, Ebonyians, friends of the State, Exco members, The Press and everybody for their prayers, goodwill messages and support while he was away.
