Suspected bandits have killed a serving police inspector, two vigilantes, kidnapped 15 students and four staffers of College of Agriculture, Bakura in Bakura local government area of Zamfara state.
The incident occurred when the suspected bandits invaded the school at midnight and engaged security operatives in a fierce gun battle.
The police command of Zamfara State has confirmed the killing of a police inspector, two vigilantes and the abduction in the College of Agriculture, Bakura in Bakura local government area of the state.
A statement by the Command’s spokesman Muhammad Shehu also confirmed that 15 students and four staff members of the college were abducted.
“The bandits came in large numbers about midnight with intent to abduct a large number of students and staff but were heavily confronted by tactical police operatives,” Shehu said.
“Unfortunately, a police inspector and two other guards lost their lives while 15 students and four staff members were abducted by the bandits.”
