The media team of Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi FNIM, OON, governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the March 18th 2023 election, says Deltans should be wary of the bad mouth of the SDP Woman Leader, Mrs. Rosemary Ibobo, over comments credited to her.
Mrs. Ibobo, was quoted to have said that the “party’s guber candidate played her like football prior to the elections and as well maltreated the women wing of the party”, among other unfounded lies.
In a statement on Sunday, April 30th 2023, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the SDP gubernatorial candidate, Orusi Kenneth, said Ibobo’s unguarded vituperation are all lies from the pit of hell to tarnish the rising profile of Gbagi, before the public.
The Spokesman of Gbagi, said the huge support the State Deputy Chairman of the party, Chief Mrs. Esther Ikule and other notable party women of repute, accorded the party’s flag bearer, till date, Ibobo and her cohorts have no grounds to say Gbagi maltreated her and SDP women in the State.
“Ibobo, is a known parrot, who talks out of point. She has no women support base across the 25 local government areas, all the time she was with Gbagi, she couldn’t mobilize women during rallies and meetings.
“We are aware that this is his last shot at the elusive attempt to distract Gbagi, from focusing on his petition before the Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, while she is on a futile journey, has been spewing series of lies.
“Making empty threats and presenting a false narrative about Gbagi who took care of widows and women anywhere he went all through the campaigns and consultations.
“She claimed that Gbagi did evil against all the women, another false narrative that she has pushed to the media, since she joined the bandwagons.
“We believe that in her private moment, Ibobo will concede that her view about maltreatment is a lie”.
The media team noted however that the media attack is the “Voice of Jacob, the hands of Esau”.
