The voting exercise commenced in Esan West local government area of Edo state as early as 8:30 am, following the early arrival of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) officials around 7:15am.
Despite the light rain, voters trooped out and defiled the weather conditions to cast their votes as some voters came to the voting centre with their umbrellas.
At Eguare Primary School in Ward II, Ujiogba units 2, 3 and 11, voters were seen in lines, waiting to be accredited while those accredited were casting their votes in an orderly manner.
The electoral officials said the electoral materials arrived early and the BVAS were perfectly in good condition and never encountered any hitch.
Security operatives who are on the ground monitoring the exercise said the voting process has been peaceful and there was no challenge and confirmed that the voters are orderly.
One of the voters, Robert Ebuekagbon, said the materials arrived early and has cast his vote and will be waiting at the center till the end of the exercise to monitor his vote and the exercise.
