The Executive Chairman of the Delta State Waste Management Board (DSWMB), Hon. Matthew Mofe Edema, has extended warm Christmas and New Year goodwill messages to partners, stakeholders and the people of Delta State, calling for renewed commitment to environmental cleanliness and sustainability.
In a festive message released on Wednesday December 17, 2025, on behalf of the Board, Management and staff of the DSWMB, Hon. Edema conveyed compliments of the season to Deltans, wishing them a Merry Christmas and a clean, prosperous New Year.
The Chairman used the occasion to underscore the importance of collective responsibility in keeping the environment clean, noting that a healthy and sustainable environment remains critical to public health, economic growth and overall wellbeing in the state.
According to him, the Yuletide season presents an opportunity for citizens to reflect on positive habits, including proper waste disposal and environmental consciousness, which align with the state government’s vision for a cleaner and healthier Delta.
Hon. Edema reaffirmed the commitment of the Delta State Waste Management Board to strengthening waste management systems across the state, while deepening collaboration with communities, private sector partners and other stakeholders to achieve lasting environmental cleanliness.
He expressed appreciation to residents for their continued support and cooperation, assuring that the Board will remain steadfast in delivering efficient and responsive waste management services in the year ahead.
The goodwill message concluded with a renewed call on all Deltans to embrace cleanliness as a shared duty, as they celebrate the season and look forward to a more prosperous New Year.
