In commemoration of the 2025 Customer Service Week themed “Mission Possible,” the Delta State Police Command has celebrated the occasion with a state-wide community engagement and outreach aimed at appreciating the vital support of residents in the fight against crime.

The event, held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, featured the distribution of souvenirs and gift items to road users, market women, parents, youths, and students across Delta State.

The initiative underscored the Command’s commitment to strengthening the bond between the police and the communities they serve.

Speaking during the exercise, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olufemi Abaniwonda, commended Deltans for their continuous partnership and cooperation, which he described as instrumental to the Command’s numerous successes in combating crime and maintaining peace.

“This outreach represents our non-kinetic approach to crime fighting. It is designed to bridge the gap between the police and the people. We see every law-abiding citizen as a partner in ensuring a safer Delta,” the Commissioner stated.

The outreach, which extended to major towns including Ughelli, Warri, Sapele, and Asaba, saw officers distributing branded souvenirs, educational materials, and other gift items to residents and schoolchildren.

The Command emphasized that the protection of lives and property remains its core mandate, and that collaborative community-police relationships are crucial to achieving sustained peace and security.

The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Edafe Bright, ANIPR, FCIA, FIPMD, noted that the Command will continue to adopt people-centered initiatives to foster trust, transparency, and shared responsibility in ensuring public safety.

“Customer Service Week offers an opportunity to appreciate Deltans as our valued partners in the security architecture. We remain committed to service excellence and community partnership,” SP Bright affirmed.

Through this initiative, the Delta State Police Command reiterated its dedication to promoting effective community policing and enhancing the welfare of residents across the state.
