A former National Chairman of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Bamanga Tukur, has eulogized a leading governorship aspirant in Delta State, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, for chesting out to contest the gubernatorial election in the state, come 2023.
The erstwhile National Chairman, described the former education minister as a presidential material whose antecedents speak volumes of him.
Dr. Tukur stated this on Tuesday August 10th 2021, when the prominent governorship hopeful paid him a courtesy visit.
While commending the industrialist cum philanthropist for vying for the number seat in his state, Tukur, a prominent politician and business tycoon, charged the renowned criminologist to continue to pitch tent with the party.
According to him, Olorogun Gbagi, should do more to see that the party becomes more unified and formidable for all stakeholders as well as delivering the dividends of democracy to all citizens instead of abandoning the party.
He added that “Olorogun Gbagi, in his rights, is a presidential material, bearing in mind his entrepreneurial acumen and as a provider of employment across the country”.
Addressing the media, Dr. Tukur, tasked the fourth estate of the realm to stand up and hold accountable political leaders just as he noted that those who have done well should be praised.
He equally charged journalists to expose elected and appointed officers who steal the common wealth of the people into their private pockets.
It would be recall that Dr. Tukur, a prominent Nigerian businessman and politician served as Governor, Minister and National Chairman of the Peoples Democractic Party (PDP).
In his response, Olorogun Barr. Kenneth Gbagi, thanked the elder statesman for firmly standing for justice, equity and opening doors for Africans in Diaspora.
