A coalition of humanitarian organizations, civil society organizations (CSOs), religious leaders, traditional rulers, media representatives, and community health groups has praised the Kaduna State Government for the successful rehabilitation of Primary Health Care (PHC) centers throughout the state.

The coalition conducted an assessment visit to selected PHC facilities to express their gratitude to the Kaduna State Government and the State Primary Health Care Agency for the renovation of 255 PHCs across the state’s 23 local government areas.

The objective of the visit was to evaluate the impact of ongoing health sector reforms at both grassroots and community levels.

The delegation was led by Pastor Dr. Yohanna Buru, the National President of the Peace Revival and Reconciliation Foundation of Nigeria and a prominent human rights advocate.

The team included representatives from various media organizations who inspected several facilities, noting significant improvements in infrastructure, service delivery, and the availability of modern medical equipment.

During the visit, Pastor Dr. Buru expressed his satisfaction with the quality of renovations at the PHCs, highlighting that these upgrades would notably enhance healthcare delivery, particularly for women and children.

He emphasized the coalition’s decision to formally acknowledge Governor Uba Sani’s commitment to prioritizing primary healthcare and the visible transformations observed in numerous communities throughout the state.

“We have witnessed remarkable improvements in our health centers, which include new medical equipment.

“These enhancements have brought better healthcare services closer to our people, and we are here to convey our appreciation to the state government,” he stated.

Pastor Dr. Buru further commended the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Agency for its efforts in improving the health and wellbeing of residents, expressing the coalition’s continued prayers and support for the success of the administration.

Madam Margaret Julius Kwada, a four-time World No Tobacco Day award recipient from the World Health Organization (WHO) in Nigeria, noted that the visit was organized in collaboration with key stakeholders to express gratitude for the extensive upgrades to all PHC facilities across the 23 local government areas of Kaduna State.

She highlighted how the introduction of digital medical equipment and modern tools has enhanced the capacity of health centers to provide quality services to women, children, and other vulnerable groups.

She thanked the Kaduna State Governor for his leadership in transforming the health sector and encouraged citizens to support Governor Uba Sani’s administration.

Ambassador Idris Musa, a traditional title holder from Tudun Wada, Kaduna State, praised the government for modernizing community health centers with laboratories and essential medical equipment.

He also acknowledged the recent deployment of 10 ambulances by the state government, describing it as a significant enhancement to emergency healthcare services across Kaduna State.

In response to the coalition’s visit, the Executive Director of the Kaduna State Primary Health Care Agency, Professor Dr. Bello Jamoh Yusuf, expressed gratitude for their support and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening primary healthcare services.

He announced that the Kaduna State Government is in the process of recruiting over 1,800 healthcare workers to fill personnel gaps and has increased salaries for health staff to motivate the workforce.

Professor Yusuf encouraged residents to make use of the newly renovated PHC facilities, assuring them of quality healthcare services provided by qualified personnel using modern diagnostic equipment.

He acknowledged the continuous support of civil society, non-governmental, and community-based organizations, wishing residents a prosperous New Year.
