BRRAKING NEWS: Ebonyi Governor, Aides Test Positive To Covid-19

As the number of persons infected with the dreaded Coronavirus pandemic increases in the country, Ebonyi State government house, has been affected.

The state governor Engr. David Nweze Umahi and some close aides, Saturday 4th July, 2020, tested positive to COVID-19.

In a press release by the Special Assistant to the governor on Media and Publicity, Francis Nwaze, however noted that the governor and his aides who tested positive are not showing the symptoms of the disease.

According to the aide, “The Governor and some of the aides affected are showing no symptoms but have since isolated in line with NCDC protocol”.

He stated that the governor has directed his Deputy to takeover the fight against the pandemic, assuring that the people of Ebonyi state would not be abandoned.

Hear him: “The governor directs his deputy to take over the frontline coordination of our determined fight against this pandemic to protect our people, noting that there are no regrets and nothing is to be feared as our people will not be abandoned at a trying period like now”. 

Governor Umahi appealed to Ebonyians to take the directives from the Niheria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) protocols more seriously.

“Today, 4th July, my result and some of my close aides tests returned positive for COVID-19.

“My Deputy takes over the frontline coordination of our determined fight against this pandemic to protect our people.

“However, there are no regrets and nothing is to be feared as our people will not be abandoned at a trying period like now.

“I am working from home and all my meetings will be through virtual. Soonest, we will all test negative and reunite. We bless the name of our God”, the release added.
