Determined to see that the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) fail in the forthcoming presidential election over the non-resignation of the National party chairman, Senator Iyocha Ayu, the Benue State governor, Samuel Ortom, has reportedly established a campaign team for the presidential candidate of Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, ahead of the 2023 election.
It was learnt that the Benue State governor Ortom, has reportedly asked his followers and supporters to throw their weights behind Obi.
A source who pleaded anonymity while briefing newsmen said, though the aggrieved governor has not openly endorsed anybody, he has directed his foot soldiers to support the Labour Party presidential candidate.
“Governor Ortom has already established Obi team using his most trusted aides and allies”, the source reiterated.
Reports has it that the Peter Obi campaign team is headed by Prof.Dennis Tyavyar, a former governorship candidate in the state.
Prof. Tyavyar, served as Commissioner for Education in Ortom administration before resigning to test his popularity in the governorship contest.
