A prominent member of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Samson Zamora Afure Efe, has announced his resignation from the party, citing dissatisfaction with the leadership of the State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, particularly regarding what he described as biased appointments.

Hon. Efe, a well-known figure in Ughelli South’s PDP chapter, also criticized the party’s failure to demonstrate effective leadership, stating that this shortcoming compelled his decision to leave.

He alleged that the party’s internal dynamics had created an environment where continued membership was untenable.

A letter dated January 14, 2025, reportedly addressed to the Chairman of PDP in Ewu Ward II, Ughelli South Local Government Area, outlined Efe’s grievances.

In the letter, the former member of the Ughelli South Legislative Arm expressed that recent developments within the party made his participation unsustainable.

The letter reads in part: “However, recent development within the party made it practically impossible for me to continue participating.

“The uneven distribution of the Ukodo Agenda and the party inability to provide the necessary leadership as expected has forced this resignation”, he said.

The letter was also copied to the PDP Chairman of Ughelli South and the State Working Committee Chairman, underscoring the significance of his decision and the issues he raised.
