In a strategic move aimed at strengthening governance and accelerating development, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi State has announced a cabinet reshuffle affecting key ministries, including Information and Rural Development.

The shake-up, which was unveiled during Monday’s Executive Council meeting at the Government House, Abakaliki, is part of the governor’s broader effort to enhance administrative efficiency across the state.

According to the new arrangement, Hon. Aikeuwa Omebeh, the immediate past Commissioner for Rural Development, has been appointed as the new Commissioner for Information and State Orientation.

He replaces Hon. Jude Chikadibia Okpor, who now heads the Ministry of Rural Development.

The Ministry of Education (Primary and Secondary) and the Ministry of Border Peace and Conflict Resolution also witnessed changes.

Hon. Paul Awo Nwobasi, who previously oversaw the education portfolio, has been moved to head Border Peace and Conflict Resolution, while Hon. Donatus Ilang, former commissioner in that role, now assumes responsibility for primary and secondary education.

Governor Nwifuru, in his remarks, charged the newly reassigned commissioners to bring fresh vigor to their new roles and ensure impactful service delivery in line with the administration’s development agenda.

He further urged all members of the council to evaluate their performance and recommit themselves to the vision of a progressive and people-centered government.
