Former presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has alleged that Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has effectively joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) despite still holding membership in the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
In a video interview shared by TV Platinum, Sowore claimed that while it remains uncertain whether Fubara will make a formal declaration, the governor has already accepted the political conditions set for his reinstatement and continued stay in office.
“Fubara has already joined APC unofficially. I don’t know if he will join officially, but whether it is official or unofficial, just know that Fubara is only going back as governor because he has agreed to whatever conditions they gave to him. He has capitulated,” Sowore stated.
He further alleged that the development signals a complete political takeover of Rivers State by the APC.
“What that tells you is that they have already captured Rivers State, not only the votes there but also the resources, which is very important. That is what they are after,” he added.
