The embattled and ousted Commissioner for Lands in Imo State, Noble Atulegwu Abiaso, has been released from Police custody after spending over 40 days in detention on the order of the governor of the state, Hope Uzodimma.
Recall that Governor Uzodimma had ordered the arrest and detention of Atulegwu, over alleged land grabbing and other related matters.
He was detained at the police headquarters in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
It was gathered that the sacked Commissioner was released after all the investigations by the State CID of the Police Command.
Atulegwu was granted bail to enable him reunite with his family after over a month.
However, a source from Imo Government House, Owerri, who do not want his name in print, disclosed to journalists that more actions and investigations were ongoing on the matter.
According to the source, he will be called upon immediately after 2023 festive period for more questioning and thereafter charged to court of competent jurisdiction.
