Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru, has suspended the Commissioner for local government and chieftaincy affairs, Uchenna Igwe for alleged gross misconduct and dereliction of duties.
His suspension was announced on Monday during a press briefing at New Government House, Centenary City at Abakaliki, the State Capital.
It was gathered that the suspension of the Local Government and Chieftaincy affairs commissioner, raised the number of commissioners to four.
It was gathered that the embattled commissioner, Igwe failed to carry out effectively an assignment given to him by the governor, on issues bordering on the payment of local government pension by council chairman in the state.
Investigation revealed that, Igwe is proceeding on some months suspension, just like others; Chinedu Nkah of water resources, Francis Ori of housing estates and Moses Ekuma of the ministry of health, and will be missing Xmas largesse meant for commissioners in the state.
