The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State has openly declared its readiness to follow whatever political direction the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Wike, gives ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The declaration was made on Sunday, January 4, 2026, by the APC Chairman in the area, Mr Rejoice Otobo, during Wike’s thank-you visit to the council, where he assured the minister of unwavering loyalty and support.
“We are waiting for your instructions on the 2027 elections in Rivers State. Wherever you ask us to go, there we will go. Whatever you ask us to do, we will do,” Otobo stated.
He further said the people of Ahoada West, regardless of political affiliation, had resolved to align with Wike’s leadership in appreciation of his contributions to the area.
“All the good and bad people of this local government have decided that wherever you want us to go, that is where we will go,” he added.
Similarly, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ahoada West, Mr Ikechukwu Obuzor, pledged total loyalty to Wike, describing him as a leader who has restored hope to the people.
“We are standing firmly with you. Wherever you go, we will go. Be assured that come 2027, Ahoada West will deliver the needed results for you,” Obuzor said.
Earlier, the Chairman of Ahoada West Local Government Council, Mr Chita Eugene, described Wike as the “political field marshal of the South-South,” commending him for attracting unprecedented development to Rivers State.
Eugene said the visit transcended a thank-you tour, describing it as a celebration of impactful leadership and effective public service.
Also speaking, the member representing Ahoada West/Ogba-Egbema-Ndoni Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Mr Victor Obuzor, said Wike deserved the overwhelming support, noting that his tenure as Rivers State governor brought transformative development and lasting impact to the local government.
In the same vein, the Seyi Tinubu Support Group, led by Mr Chidi Amadi, pledged support for Wike and the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
In his remarks, Wike said he was in Ahoada West to express gratitude to the people for their massive support for him and President Tinubu during the 2023 general elections.
He recalled that Rivers State was once widely respected for its strong political stance on good governance before what he described as a period of poor leadership.
The minister insisted that Governor Siminalayi Fubara should not be re-elected for a second term, arguing that Rivers State must reclaim its political pride and relevance.
According to Wike, the state’s lost glory can only be restored by correcting what he described as a leadership mistake in 2027.
“Today, Rivers State is respected again because of what we are doing in the FCT. We need a leader we can trust to take our dear state back to glory and progress,” Wike said.
