The Enugu State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially expelled its chairman, Ugochukwu Agballah, along with eight other members, citing gross misconduct and disregard for party directives.

The decision was conveyed in a statement signed by Alphonsus Onyeachonam Nwafor, the acting state chairman, and High Chief Charles-Solo Akor, the state publicity secretary. According to the statement, Agballah and the expelled individuals were accused of consistently defying court orders that barred them from parading themselves as executive members of the party.

“The leadership of APC Enugu State Chapter hereby officially expels Ugochukwu H. Agballah, Augustine Alumona, Jude Chinedu Aniogbo, Moses Emeka Eze, Sunday Ugwoke, Ugwu Christian Kanayo, Eze Chidiebere Johnson, Queen Charles, and Onyekachi T. Ezeagu from the APC Enugu State Chapter,” the statement read.

It further accused the expelled members of blatantly violating a High Court order, which had restrained them from convening or holding meetings under the guise of the APC State Executive Committee (SEC), Enugu State Chapter.

Beyond legal defiance, the party leadership alleged that Agballah and his associates had engaged in multiple acts that undermined the party’s stability and objectives in the state.

“This decision reflects our firm stance on accountability and ethical governance. The integrity of our party is non-negotiable. We will not allow individuals who undermine our mission and principles to remain within our ranks,” the statement emphasized.

The expulsion marks a significant shake-up within the APC Enugu leadership, signaling the party’s commitment to discipline and internal order ahead of future political engagements.
