Reports emerging from Nigeria indicate that Anthony Joshua, the two-time world heavyweight boxing champion, has been involved in a serious car accident resulting in the deaths of two individuals.
The incident reportedly occurred on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Ogun State, where Joshua’s Lexus Jeep collided with a stationary truck.
The 36-year-old, who holds dual Nigerian heritage, sustained minor injuries in the crash while two other occupants tragically lost their lives at the scene.
Authorities are currently conducting an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
Joshua was reportedly in Nigeria on holiday following his recent victory over Jake Paul in Miami on December 19, where he secured a win by stopping the former YouTube star in the sixth round of their eight-round bout at Kaseya Center.
The Olympic gold medalist is expected to return to the ring in February or March, with ongoing discussions regarding a potential summer match against the currently retired Tyson Fury.
