BREAKING NEWS: After Dragging Okowa To EFCC, PANDEF Leader, Chief EK Clark, Dies At 97

Months after Elder statesman and prominent leader of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Chief Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, dragged former governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), ovet allegations of theft, the Ijaw national leader, has passed away at the age of 97.

The former Commissioner of Information died on Monday night, February 17, 2025, according to a statement issued by Prof. C.C. Clark on behalf of the family.

“The Clark-Fuludu Bekederemo family of Kiagbodo Town, Delta State, wishes to announce the passing of Chief (Dr.) Sen. Edwin Kiagbodo Clark, OFR, CON, on Monday 17th February, 2025.

The family appreciates your prayers at this time. Other details will be announced later by the family,” the statement read.

Clark’s death comes just days after the passing of another national icon, Afenifere leader Pa Ayo Adebanjo, who died at the age of 96.

Chief Edwin Clark’s legacy as a fearless advocate for the Niger Delta and a stalwart of national unity will be remembered for generations.

It would be recall that investigation surrounding Okowa’s alleged financial misappropriation to the tone of N1.3 trillion stems from allegations made in petitions, including one by Elder Statesman Edwin Clark, accusing Okowa of misappropriating state funds during his tenure.
