A former senatorial candidate in Yobe State’s 2023 general election, Alhaji (Dr.) Aji Kolomi (Aiki), has officially resigned from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), signaling a shift in the state’s political landscape.
His resignation was outlined in a letter dated March 1, 2025, addressed to the PDP Ngurbuwa Ward chairman in Gujba Local Government Area.
In the letter, Hon. Aji expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunity to contest the 2023 Yobe East senatorial election, acknowledging the cooperation he received over the years.
He also emphasized his role in advancing grassroots politics, fostering collaboration, and contributing to democratic development under the PDP.
Attached to the letter was his membership card (No: 0396450), marking the formal end of his affiliation with the party.
While Aji’s departure raises questions about internal party dynamics and potential realignments ahead of future elections, he has yet to disclose his next political move.
