An autopsy conducted on Jumoke Oyeleke, the salesgirl who was allegedly killed by stray bullet during the Yoruba Nation rally in Lagos on July 3 reveals that she died from bullet injury.

It was reported that the 25-year-old girl Jumoke, who displayed soft drinks at her boss’ shop in a compound close to the rally ground, was hit by bullets reportedly fired by a security operative dispersing Yoruba Nation agitators at Ojota, Lagos State.

The Lagos State Police Command in a statement issued by its Public Relations Officer, Olamuyiwa Adejobi, said that the late Jumoke did not die as a result of the bullets fired by its security operatives.

Adejobi claimed that Jumoke was abandoned after she was stabbed.

However, an autopsy report which was released and signed by Dr. S.S. Soyomi of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, Ikeja, indicated that the 25-year-old died after she was hit by a stray bullet.

According to Dr Soyomi, Jumoke died from “haemopericardium, disruption of the heart and lungs and missile injury to the chest.”
