The Arewa Cohesion for Peace, Unity, and Development Initiative has strengthened its organizational framework with the inauguration of standing committees and interim state coordinators, marking a significant step toward advancing its vision of unity, peace, and development in Northern Nigeria.

Chairman of the occasion, Hon. Bature Umar Masari, commended the leadership of the initiative for its foresight and commitment. He congratulated the appointees and urged them to discharge their responsibilities with integrity, discipline, and humility.

Masari expressed optimism that the initiative would grow into a formidable platform for peace and progress in Arewa and across Nigeria.

Director-General of the initiative, Dr. Abdullahi Idris, highlighted the importance of the appointments, stressing that the committees and coordinators will be pivotal in implementing the group’s vision.

“The appointees are expected to work tirelessly to achieve the objectives of the initiative, promoting unity, peace, socio-economic development, good governance, and citizen participation,” Idris said.

He explained that the initiative aims to undertake massive enlightenment campaigns to educate citizens on their basic rights, including access to life, security, education, healthcare, and sustainable development.

The newly inaugurated committees include the Planning and Strategy Committee, Finance Committee, and Media and Publicity Committee.

According to Dr. Idris, these organs will play a critical role in shaping strategic plans, mobilizing resources, and ensuring effective communication of the initiative’s programmes.

He noted that the state coordinators will be tasked with mobilizing membership, building functional structures, and inspiring grassroots participation in their respective states.

“The inauguration of these committees and coordinators marks a milestone in our journey. With dedication and professionalism, the initiative is well-positioned to make meaningful impact in Northern Nigeria and beyond,” he added.

Speaking on behalf of the media and communications team, Chairman of the Media and Publicity Committee, Comrade Garba Muhammad, expressed gratitude for the appointment and pledged the committee’s commitment.

“We will deploy professionalism and creativity in communicating the vision of Arewa Cohesion. Our duty is to ensure that the message of unity and progress resonates across the North and the country at large,” he said.

The inauguration, stakeholders noted, sets the stage for a stronger, more coordinated effort to promote peace, unity, and sustainable development across the region.
