Ahon Felicitates Prof. Ufuophu-Biri, Jaro Egbo On Birth Anniversaries
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Delta State, Sir Festus Ahon, has extended warm birthday felicitations to two distinguished personalities, Professor Emmanuel Ufuophu-Biri, Rector of Delta State Polytechnic, Otefe-Oghara, and Olorogun Jaro Movudu Egbo, Chairman of Ughelli North Local Government Council—on the occasion of their birth anniversaries.
Sir Ahon described Professor Ufuophu-Biri as a shining light in academia and a reform advocate whose illustrious career has inspired many within and beyond Delta State.
A prolific scholar, he has lectured at world-class institutions including Harvard University, the University of Memphis, the University of South Florida, and Abertay University in Scotland.
Professor Ufuophu-Biri has been widely celebrated for his contributions to education, earning accolades such as Most Productive Head of Department and Academic Personality of the Year.
He is also the proud recipient of the traditional title of Omoko of Oghara Kingdom, a recognition of his exceptional service to education and humanity.
In the same vein, Ahon extolled Olorogun Jaro Egbo as a lawyer, politician, and grassroots mobilizer whose record of public service is marked by innovation and commitment to community welfare.
As Chairman of Ughelli North, he has introduced transformative initiatives including a monthly environmental sanitation programme that has improved public health and cleanliness across the local government.
Egbo has also championed free medical outreaches and other people-oriented projects that underscore his compassion for his people.
A respected Knight of St. Christopher in the Anglican Communion, he holds the traditional titles of Amerode of Ughelli Kingdom and Ogidigan of Agbon Kingdom.
Sir Ahon praised Professor Ufuophu-Biri as “a pillar of scholarship who has molded countless students into leaders and professionals” and lauded Olorogun Egbo as “a servant-leader whose compassion and dedication to his people remain exemplary.”
He noted that as both men celebrate their birthdays on August 23, the occasion is not only a personal milestone but also a testament to the remarkable impact they have made in academia, public service, and the overall development of Delta State.
