The Edo state governors, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, has disclosed that academic activities would commenced at the State College of Agriculture January 2022.
The governor made the statement in Monday September 13th 2021, during an inspection of ongoing construction work at the campus of the Edo State College of Agriculture in Iguoriakhi, Ovia south west local government area of the state, near Benin City.
According to Obaseki, “Iguoriakhi is the main campus for the Edo State College of Agriculture and there are two other satellite campuses.
“Major construction work is ongoing in Iguoriakhi: We are building all the facilities required to get the campus ready for academic activities, hopefully by January next year. The accommodation for students is already in progress.
“The campus will have a 1, 000-seater capacity auditorium, with another 250-seater capacity auditorium, both of which are under construction.
“There will be two buildings to host the six facilities that we would start with and hopefully we would expand to about eight later.
“The recruitment process for the faculty is currently ongoing. What I have seen on site here and with the speed at which the contractor is moving, this place should be ready by Christmas and this institution should be reopen by January next year”, he added.
