The officials of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ondo State Command have arrested four suspects, one of which was a 29-year-old who defiled a minor and two others gang-raped a 13-year-old girl in the state.
According to the report, the fourth suspect was arrested for allegedly stealing a motorcycle at Oba-Ile, Akure North local government area of the state.
Parading the suspects, the State Commandant, Hammed Abodunrin, explained that Oke Adebomi, 29, of
Adegoroye Street, Oshinle, Akure, was arrested for allegedly kissing a four-year-old girl and using his manhood to caress her private part.
He said: “The arrests of the suspects were made possible based on credible intelligence, the Antihuman Trafficking Ilegal Migration and Gender-Based Unit of the Command swung into action having gotten a wind of a suspect who raped a four-year-old girl who just returned from School. Our Officers acted professionally by whisking away the suspect who was almost been killed by some angry mob.
“From the extrajudicial statement of the suspect, he confessed that he sexually abused the four-year-old girl by kissing and using his manhood to caress her private part. Medical Examination however revealed there was no penetration but there were signs that he used his manhood on the private part of the innocent girl.”
Another girl, 13, was allegedly gang raped by two suspects, Oluwadare Olawale and Suraju, who both hailed from Ilepa, Ikare-Akoko.
According to the NSCDC boss, the victim was lured, abducted to a private apartment and the two suspects took turns in raping the victim.
He said: “Although Suraju is currently at large, our Intelligence personnel are on his trail, Oluwadare Olawale however confessed to the crime blaming the occurrence on the devil.”
The fourth suspect arrested and paraded, Aanu Jimoh allegedly stole a motorcycle at Oba-Ile in Akure North Local Government.
He was arrested with a Boxer Motorcycle, which the commandant said he(Aanu) confessed to having stolen from the Palace of Olowo of Owo in Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.
Commandant Hammed affirmed, therefore, said the all the suspects would be arraigned in court at the completion of investigations.
He charged parents and guardians to watch over their wards and the criminal-minded persons was advised to relocate from the state or face the consequences of their despicable behaviours.
