Read the earlier post on the woman below:
So, I saw a middle-aged woman holding her little daughter while strolling on the street of our quiet village.
Suddenly, the little girl shouted “mummy mummy! Look at a witch!” The mother turned to see where the little girl was pointing at, only to see an old woman, looking unkempt. She smiled and told the little girl, “she is just an old woman abandoned by her family and not a witch.”
The little girl insisted she was a witch because that is how witches look like in the movies. The mother bent down and told her, “Baby, someday, I will be old and I might look like that and other kids will call me a witch. Oh, poor little girl. Her worldview has been altered.
Why do we often see out poor and abandoned old people as witches? Why has Nollywood continued to promote this falsehood?
Our conclusion is that we will all become witches and wizards someday if this trend is not corrected because we all desire to grow old.
