Resident Doctors Visit Omu Anioma, Plan Medical Outreach Ahead Of 2020 AGM

The Publicity Committee of the Association of Resident Doctors (ARD), Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Asaba Chapter, has paid a courtesy visit on the Omu of Okpanam and Omu Anioma, Her Royal Majesty (HRM), Obi Martha Dunkwu, to intimate her of the 2020 Annual General Meeting (AGM), of the group which would culminate in a medical outreach called “The Doctors Reach Out Programme (TDROP)”.

According to Dr. Awunor Alexander Chidubem, who is the Publicity Committee Chairman, “The visit is to afford us the opportunity of familiarizing with the traditional institution, to intimidate them of the robust and well packaged TDROP proposed to take place in Okpanam.

“This is a programme carried out annually by the ARD as part of our social responsibility to the community, as a way of contributing our quota to the development of various communities health-wise.

“The programme will feature free sugar screening and testing, free hypertension test, free check for prostate and breast cancer and awareness on several other ailments.

“We are glad to finally meet the famous Omu Anioma and we must confess our horizons have been broadened. We are blessed to have you host us today Your Majesty”, Dr. Awunor posited.

Meanwhile, Omu Dunkwu who was excited to meet the doctors too, affirmed she always pleased to receive well educated youths who are also daring beyond the ordinary.

She appreciated them for coming, adding that it always gladdens her heart to see good things come into the community.

Dunkwu however asked the doctors to visit the Ugoani as the Traditional Ruler with far reaching platform to galvanize the community people to come out for the programme.

She said as a person she would come to the venue to give impetus to what the Association of Resident Doctors would be coming to do in the town.
