The Special Assistant to Delta State Governor on Project Monitoring, Chief Sunny Onuesoke, has applauded the Executive Chairman of Udu local government area of the state, Hon. (Chief) Jite Brown, in his proactive measures at getting rid of the local government of illegal structures defacing the aesthetic beauty of the area.
Chief Onuesoke, a former governorship aspirant in the state and others gave the commendation Saturday 29th January 2022, while speaking with newsmen during the demolition exercise which lasted for several hours.
Speaking further, Chief Onuesoke who said that the exercise was a welcome development, affirmed that the proactive measures of the council boss, would send strong signals to land grabbers that it is no longer business as usual.
On his part, the Executive Chairman of the Council, Hon. (Chief) Jite, who reiterated that the exercise would be a continuous one, frowned at those who built on government land without getting approval.
While assuring that there would be no sacred cow, he advised Jigbale, Ubogo market traders and others not to trade by the roadsides.
During the exercise, illegal structures were demolished at Police post opposite Free Indeed Church, Orhuwhorun/Igbogidi Road, Mofor Motor park, Udu Market, Jigbale Market, front of Ovwian police station among others
