Give Adequate Attention, Care To Sickle Cell Patients, Dame Okowa Urges Medical Personnel

Wife of the Delta State Governor, Dame Edith Okowa, has urged medical personnel to give adequate attention and care to sickle cell patients at the Bomadi Sickle Cell Clinic, Bomadi local government area of Delta State.

The governor’s wife gave the charge during the Commissioning of the Sickle Cell Clinic in Bomadi General Hospital established by her pet project, the O5′ Initiative in her determination to build sickle cell clinic in the 25 local government area of the state.

While appreciating God for the privilege to impact lives, she called on the people to bring those with traces of sickle cell anaemia symptoms to the clinic, as early detection saved lives.

She enjoined the health personnel at the clinic to give adequate attention and care to the patients so as to justify the huge investment of the 05 Initiative.

Dame Okowa, commended the chairman of the local government area, William Angadi, for   supporting the 05 Initiative and urged the residents to take ownership of the facility and ensure its maintenance.

In his remarks, Angadi lauded the efforts of the 05 Initiative, in restoring hope to the hopeless in the state and the council’s support to the furtherance of set goals.

The facility in Bomadi community, brings to 19, the number of sickle cell clinics in the state.
