The Nigeria Center for Disease Control (NCDC), said the agency is aware of the sickness that has claimed one student while four others are in the hospital.
The Center on their verified Facebook page, disclosed that it was in touch with relevant ministries and agencies of government to ascertain the real cause if the illness.
It also disclosed that the agency is equally in touch with the Delta State government in order to find out the nature of the sickness and carry out appropriate action
“The NCDC is aware of an unknown illness reported among secondary school children in Delta State.
“We are in touch with the Federal Ministry of Education, Nigeria, Federal Ministry of Health Nigeria and Delta State Ministry of Health to investigate and respond accordingly.
“We will communicate with Nigerians as the situation evolves” NCDC assured.
It would be recall that on 6th July 2022, there was tension as four persons were knocked down by a terrible sickness that broke out among some students of Mary Mount College, Boji -Boji Owa, Agbor, Ika north east local government area of the State.
The Story, could not ascertain at press time if another death has been recorded prompting the involvement of the Center.
