Civil servants in Delta State have been charged on the need to keep their working environment clean to avoid deadly reptiles finding way into their offices.

This is coming on the heels of the unkempt environment of the Cabinet Office Complex which houses sensitive government offices and plays host to visitors within and outside the state.

Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Patrick Ukah, gave the order on Tuesday June 22nd 2021, when he paid an unscheduled visit to the Cabinet Office Complex in Asaba.

Chief Ukah, gave the Director Cabinet Matters, Mr. Shedrak Ekpekurede, till Friday June 25th 2021, to tidy premises before his next visit to the complex, stressing that the unkempt environment was a great embarrassment to the state government.

According to him, keeping the office complex clean, was also for the good of the workers in the complex, as it would keep off dangerous reptiles from gaining access into their offices.

The Director Cabinet Matters, Mr. Shedrak Ekpekurede, who took the SSG around the complex, assured him that the complex would be kept neat before his next visit.
