Member representing of Ughelli north State Constituency I, Barr. Charles Oniyere, in the Delta State House of Assembly (DTHA), expressed great concern over the skyrocketing cases of Covid19 in Ughelli north and it environs.
Oniyere who has followed the awful trajectory of the dreaded coronavirus especially it devastating effect on mankind lamented over what becomes of the world if the trend is not drastically curtailed, “The human race is now faced with what can overwhelm it if we don’t stand and fight this monster from same front.
“Often times on social media, people who ought to know better have displayed their height of ignorance to even doubt the existence of Covid19. Our ignorance is legendary if at this stage with the number of death recorded, an individual with much zeal and zest would claim that the virus is mere politics.
In the statement, Oniyere urged constituents and Deltans to adhere to strict safety measures laid down by NCDC targeted at frustrating community spread. According to him, Deltans must be decisive and combative in complementing the efforts of government, pointing out that government is working round the clock to save lives and citizens must totally cooperate with Government at all levels in tackling this pandemic.
He also expressed his deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to those who had lost loved ones to Covid-19 and prayed that God grant their souls eternal rest and give the bereaved families the fortitude to bear the loss. For those receiving treatments in various isolation centres, he prayed for quick recovery for them all.
Hon. Charles Oniyere Esq also prayed and wished the state governor, Dr.Ifeanyi Okowa, his wife and daughter who tested positive to the pandemic a quick recovery.
