Dr. Okonjo-Iweala, whose confirmation had a setback following failure of the then US president Donald Trump to back her candidacy would resume duty on March 1st 2021.
She now has her appointment confirmed following the withdrawal of South Korean Trade Minister Yoo Myung-hee and the support of the current President of the United States, President Joe Biden.
Ada Anioma in her congratulatory message prayed for the Princess of Ogwashi-Uku Kingdom that God would bostow on her the wisdom to succeed in her new position.
“Congratulations to Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, we are so proud of you. May the Almighty God grant you the wisdom required to excel in this new position in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.” Mrs. Mrakpor wrote.
Okonjo-Iweala would become the first woman and the first African to head the organization.
At 66, she served as her country’s first female finance and foreign minister and has a 25-year career behind her as a development economist at the World Bank, welcomed the troika’s support.
