Panic broke out in Sweden on Tuesday after the country’s newly appointed Health Minister, Elisabet Lann, collapsed during her inaugural press conference.
A video of the incident shows that Lann had just finished addressing the audience when, moments later, she suddenly slumped as her lectern crashed to the floor.
Officials and security personnel rushed to her aid in a dramatic scene that left attendees stunned.
The Minister, who later returned to the stage, explained that she had fainted due to a sudden drop in blood sugar levels.
“I am fine now,” Lann reassured after receiving immediate medical attention.
Her collapse came only hours after her appointment was formally announced, following the abrupt resignation of her predecessor, Acko Ankarberg Johansson, on Monday, September 8.
Meanwhile in Doha: Multiple Explosions Rock Qatar’s Capital
In a separate development, Doha, Qatar, was thrown into chaos on Tuesday as a series of massive explosions tore through parts of the capital.
Thick plumes of smoke were seen rising over areas near several embassies.
Israeli media reported that the blasts were the result of a targeted strike on senior Hamas officials.
In a statement, the Israeli army confirmed it had carried out an assassination attempt on top Hamas leaders inside Qatar’s capital.
A Hamas source told Al Jazeera that the attack specifically targeted members of its negotiating team, who were in Doha to deliberate on a new ceasefire proposal presented by the United States.
