The president of the board of the Sally Young Initiative, Chief (Mrs.) Claudia L. Owumi has finalized plans to rebuild the house of an iconic Urhobo highlife musician, Chief Sally Young, stressing that contractors are being hired to demolish the previous house of Sally Young.
A statement made available to The Urhobo Voice said that Owumi has paid the second year of Sally Young accommodation at the cost of N240,000, adding that Owumi has continued to supply food for Sally Young and his caretaker at the cost of N100,000.
According to the statement :” My able Committee has given Sally Young the sum of N10,000 for his pocket money during a courtesy call to him recently. We must come together at this point to finish the construction of the house project”.
The statement noted that Owumi has commenced the process of rebuilding the house of Sally Young.
“The goal of the initiative is to raise the sum of 5 million Naira towards the construction of the house of Sally Young”, she added.
