The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education, Mr. Augustine Ede Oghoro, has reaffirmed the resolve of the ministry to continue to collaborate with stakeholders in the education sector in order to articulate ways of driving the sector to enviable height.
Oghoro, stated this during the conduct of 2021 June/July NECO Senior School Certificate Examination Coordination Workshop held in Asaba.
The Permanent Secretary, said that it was an annual activity that would enable Home Economics teachers in the state to conduct a two day test in the various areas of Home Economics as a subject.
Earlier in a welcome address, the Director of Science Education, Mrs. Kehinde Oderhowho, who disclosed that the workshop would help in enhancing students’ performance, noted it would guide them towards ensuring that the practical aspects were effectively conducted.
Mrs. Oderhowho, enjoined home economics teachers in the state not to relent in their efforts to bring the subject to enviable height.
The Science Education Director, however, lauded the Permanent Secretary for impacting positively in the education sector, especially for his inspiring support that made it possibly for department to effectively partner with NECO for the workshop.
In her remarks, the State NECO Officer, Mrs. Nkechi Owoyemi, represented by an Assistant Director in the state NECO office, Mrs. Cecilia Akudinobi, noted that the coordination worshop was one of the activities carried out by the National Examination Council (NECO) in preparation for SSCE.
Mrs. Owoyemi, urged participants in the worshop to bring out their best so as to ensure that rhe examination body conducted a hitch free examination.
